NanBop Farm’s mission is to celebrate and cultivate community within the city of Cadillac and Northern Michigan.

Our biodiverse farm operations will eventually span 50 acres, ranging from orchards and fields for fruit and vegetable production, to meadows and shelters for chickens and four-legged livestock. These seasonal products are available to the community through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, on-site cooking classes and events, as well as direct sale to local restaurants.

Beyond these agricultural efforts, NanBop Farm hosts ongoing, intergenerational programming for local growers, students and the community at large. From informal gatherings, to hands-on classes and annual celebrations, there is always something to see and do at the farm. We also host a range of private events—including weddings and corporate meetings—that feature the beauty and bounty of the property.

Our name and values are rooted in the legacy of Jane and Mario Iacobelli, known to their big, hungry Italian family as “Nana” and “Boppy.”

A heartwarming hostess and an outgoing entrepreneur, the pair established a connection to Cadillac and Northern Michigan over the course of three decades, during Mario’s time as the owner of Heritage Broadcasting. No matter the company or the occasion, the Iacobellis believed in food as a vehicle for connection and conversation—values they passed on to NanBop Farm founders Jolie and Pete Iacobelli.

Beyond his immediate family, Mario was known for sharing this passion for food and drink with anyone willing to listen or share a bottle of fine wine. One of his favorite pastimes was to frequent the communal table at Opa’s Butcher in Cadillac, where locals often gathered to discuss the events of the day. After Mario’s passing in 2022, NanBop Farm was founded to recreate this daily gathering of neighbors—individuals with different backgrounds and beliefs, who nevertheless found a sense of belonging around the table. It’s our hope that you will join us in this spirit, as we raise toasts, laugh loudly and share cherished memories in the presence of warm hospitality and nourishing food.

Meet Our Team

Co-Owner
A Michigan native, Pete’s love for the people and landscape of Northern Michigan was fostered by both his parents, Jane and Mario Iacobelli, and all his grandparents. From his grandparents’ pecan trees, to his mother’s strawberries, rhubarb, zucchini and tomato plants, Pete carried these childhood memories through his studies at the Universities of Colorado and Wyoming, earning degrees in sociology and law. While his career spanned many industries--from media, to real estate and restaurants—he continued to be drawn to any ventures that fostered community and brought people together over a wonderful meal. NanBop Farm is thus the culmination of a multi-generational investment in the greater Cadillac region with the shared goal of connecting people throughout northern Michigan.

Co-Owner
Raised in the Denver suburbs, Jolie hails from a long line of New Hampshire dairy farmers and recalls fond memories of family meals centered around fresh seasonal ingredients. After earning degrees in nursing and psychology from Provo College and the University of Utah, respectively, she spent many years working for Center for Change, an inpatient eating disorder clinic, as well as Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Living in Park City since 2004, she previously spent nine years on the board of directors for the Park City Community Foundation and continues to be an integral member of the organization’s ongoing community initiatives. She has also taken an active role in the local nonprofit EATS (Eat Awesome Things at School) and has been a proud backyard chicken farmer for 15 years. Her work at NanBop is an extension of both her careers in the health and philanthropy sectors.

FARM DIRECTOR
I was Born and raised in California. Wife and two sons moved out to Colorado in 2005 and loved living there. My love for farming and landscape design was instilled in me by my Grandfather and Grandmother. That “planted the seed’ for me on farming and my love for food and cooking at that time grew out of that love of fresh food. I worked on a small family farm as a teen and then help to found and establish a 40 acre family farm in Longmont Colorado. I attended Escoffier Culinary School in Colorado and received my Pastry Arts degree and was Head Pastry Chef at the Flagstaff House Restaurant in Boulder Colorado. My Wife and I decided to move to Michigan in early 2024 and we made the move this July. We love the Cadillac area and are very happy to be up in this part of the state and can’t wait to really explore the area in depth and immerse ourselves in the community, We are looking forward to many great experiences and trips within Michigan! My wife, Jacki, and I have been married for 27 years this coming October and we have 2 boys, Joseph 31 and Justin 25. We are also animal lovers and have 3 Bengal Cats(Bruno, Ghulia, and Mossimo) and two dogs, Chewy (Berndoodle) and Lilo (Dachshund). I like to golf, garden, BBQ, and fish in my down time and am looking forward to Salmon fishing here in Michigan!
