This session is the first of a three-part beginner series created to help new growers build confidence, develop practical skills, and begin their sustainable farming journey. The full series includes:

Embroidery Workshop
Join Lee Ann from Wild Daisy Creative at NanBop Farm for a fun, hands-on embroidery workshop designed to spark your creativity!
In this class, you’ll learn the essentials of embroidery—tools, supplies, and four foundational stitches. We’ll start with guided practice so you can get comfortable before beginning your own project.
Choose the item you’d like to embroider:
A canvas bag
A cute hair bow barrette
A pair of socks
Or bring something from home to personalize
You’ll have access to a large selection of string colors, and you’ll take home your own embroidery tools so you can keep stitching on your own.

Barn Quilt Painting Workshop
Join us at NanBop Farm for a creative and colorful experience as we dive into the art of barn quilt painting!
Hosted by Katy from 9&10’s Crafting with Katy, this hands-on workshop is perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike.
You’ll learn the history behind barn quilts, explore design techniques, and create your very own vibrant piece to take home. Katy will guide you step-by-step, sharing tips and tricks to make your project truly unique.
When purchasing your ticket, select your desired pattern: Turn Style, Ohio Star, or Eight-Pointed Star.
Your 15x15 board will be primed, painted with a base coat, and have the pattern already drawn on—ready for you to paint! You’ll choose your colors, tape off your pattern, and paint during our 2-hour workshop. Heat guns will be available at each table to speed up the drying process. You’ll go home with your board, paint, and some paintbrushes to finish at home if needed.

Suncatcher Making Workshop

Soap-Making Workshop
Join Lee Ann from Wild Daisy Creative for an afternoon of good, clean fun! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the full cold process soap-making method to craft your own gentle, natural bar soap from scratch.
You'll go home with:
🧼 A batch of soap (approx. 8 bars)
🧼 A reusable soap mold
🧼 A printed recipe card to recreate your batch at home
The workshop includes all supplies and safety gear, and you’re welcome to use provided goggles and gloves during class. To help transport your soap home, please bring an old towel and a baking sheet.

Learn how to safely preserve fresh, local food at home using up-to-date, research-based methods. MSU Extension experts will guide you through best practices for filling your pantry and freezer with the bounty of Michigan’s harvest—from canning to freezing and more.
✅ Bonus: If you have a dial gauge pressure canner, bring it along to have it tested for accuracy—free of charge!
After class, guests are welcome to stay, relax, and enjoy the farm—our shipping container bar will be open with local beer, wine, and cocktails, and there’s plenty of space to unwind outdoors.
